A cobbler in Mumbai has received an order worth Rs. 40,000 (App. USD 700) to make shoes for an elephant. Shoes for the front legs measure 18" x 18" (45cm x 45cm) while those for the hind legs are a massive 20"x14" (50cm x 35cm)

In Kerala Elephants commute by trucks. Shoes will be of good use when they are made to walk on
tarred/concrete roads.
